My own Music

These are all songs I created on various music workstations/keyboards/drums back in the day, and now. For music I focused on between 1996 & 2008, check out my Lazy Street band page.
| Cubase SX3, lotsa virtual instruments & drums | 2008 My latest. I love the music, but for the life of me, even with lots of reverb helping me out, I just can't sing. Crank it up and enjoy this tribute to one of my favorite Depeche Mode Songs without too much thought on the vocals. (Created as a way to really learn Cubase SX3) | |
| Roland XP50 New Age | Very romantic tune. Very delicate & mellow. | |
| Techno
Blues.mp3 3.2 Mb |
XP50. Instrumental blues/rock/metal | 1996. This seems to be my #1 hit with people whenever I play it for them. Combination Cajun bayou meets Muddy Waters meets AC/DC. Heavy Metal Techno Blues. |
| Time
Out.mp3 4.5 Mb |
XP50. Instrumental pop | Written by Mark Will & his old band "The Urge" back in about 1986, this song has been recently re-recorded by my band Symbolics. This was my version on the XP50 that I did just for fun, and because I love that song so much! Done in 1997. |
| Anthonian Symphony.mp3 6.6 Mb |
XP50. Instrumental orchestral | 1996? Written with ONLY the Roland XP50 Music Workstation, this was my first attempt at writing something that sounded 100% orchestral. I actually like this one quite a bit! Sounds like good movie soundtrack music. Kinda artsy part in the middle. 1996 |
| Moody Thing.mp3 3.9 Mb |
XP50. Instrumental new age/pop | Written in early 1996 I think. This one is very serious, and is one of my favorites. It had an original title, but I forgot it. Moody, ambient, new age with a beat. This was recorded in haste from the XP50 to a DAT machine before I sold the XP50, so I forgot to turn on the effects on the drums. They sound flat, but the song is still effective. |
| Korg M1. Instrumental up-tempo Ska/Reggae | 1997? I wanted a tight, non-effected snap reggae-influenced song. Used the "Prince" lead 'Nasty Girl' synth lead on this one and plowed the percussion with everything I could throw at it! After checking it out, I added the complex strings. Break at 1:21 is awesome! | |
| House
Sitting.mp3 4.0 Mb |
XP50. Instrumental new age/pop | 1996. After creating this tune, I happened to be house-sitting for a friend of mine and played it over & over on his kick-ass home system. That night, I went out to a local bar and had an incredible time. When I got back to his place, I played this song again, over and over. |
| The Fair.mp3 3.8 Mb |
M1. Instrumental new age | Written on the M1 after I had a date with someone & we went to a fair in 1995. People seem to like this one. Very mellow & sweet. The M1 sound samples are so-so, but the song works. |
| It's
OK.mp3 3.1 Mb |
Roland XP50. New Age/Soundtrack-type music | Created in 1995. One of my first pieces created on the XP50 workstation. Starts VERY simply, but escalates into an emotional journey after about a minute. Favorite moments: 1:10, 2:17. Give it a full try. You might like it. |
| Separation.mp3 5.1 Mb |
Roland XP50 + Roland TD-7 Drum module. New Age/Miami Vice "cry your eyes out" brooding type song | Created in 1995. Lots of "Miami Vice"/Jan Hammer influence in this one. Somewhat repetitive, but "haunting" in my opinion. Keep listening. More instruments are added as the song goes, and my minimalist piano solo isn't so bad. Enjoy! And get some tissue. |
| My
First XP50 Song 2.5Mb |
Roland XP50 with Roland TD7 Drum controller recorded in real time (to the XP50 drum sounds. Yeah, really.) | 1995. Now THIS is a fun song. Completely created by me for the sole purpose of testing and evaluating the features of the XP-50 workstation sounds. I used my existing TD-7 Roland Electronic Drum set to create the drum part at the time. Yes, yes, I love this song! Recorded onto my old MT100 4-track and then onto cassette later. Too bad for the quality. |
| 1994.mp3 | Korg M1 New Age | Had quite an awesome year back then. Wrote this instrumental in December. |
| Can't Stand It Anymore.mp3 5.7 Mb |
M1, Alesis D4 drum module. Instrumental Pop | I wrote this in 1994 after being dumped by the same girl twice. There were some words once, but I never recorded them. This song ended up being a great, fast, and progressive tune. |
| Korg M1 New Age | 1991. Probably the first "good" song I ever made. Slow, Moody, Sad, Romantic... What would you expect from me back then? ;) |
